Lorra
Lee Rose has been
creating original artwork since 1987. Her principle medium is feathers.
Over the years she has developed a network of aviaries and pet owners who
gather the shed feathers. The natural colored feathers are primarily from
parrot, pheasant, chicken and turkeys. Each bird may molt only a few
feathers a season. Therefore, it can take years to collect enough to make
one mask.
The mask base is constructed of paper mache',
formed over a mold of her husband's face. The life-size animals like the
"Lion", are a molded foam called postex.
Hanging a Lorra Lee Rose creation in your home or
office will add a uniqueness worthy of many conversations. These works of
art are sure to become an investment increasing in value because of their
originality and will be enjoyed for generations.

The Pair
Made in Heaven
It took 12 years to gather enough male and female eclectus parrot feathers
to assemble the "Pair Made in Heaven". Beautifully displayed and
mounted -- each in its own plexi box -- this stunning pair of masks will
be sold as a set.
Most parrots are identical in color which makes a
DNA test necessary to determine gender. Since
the male and female Eclectus each have their own specific color, they were
once thought to be two separate species.
